Is Education Failing Our Youth

Monday, 2 April 2018 6:44:08 pm Australia/Sydney

Is Education Failing Our Youth?

In over 100 years, education has not changed dramatically. We still run the same system today that we did all those years ago. Endless Forms of Financial Freedom with The Wheel

Monday, 12 March 2018 3:50:29 pm Australia/Sydney

Being an educator—for most, is more of a calling than a profession. As rewarding as the job can be, the long hours and overtime at home can be taxing. Especially when tallied to the pay check. Whether consciously or unconsciously, educators are satiated when students excel. Part of the challenges faced by educators include coming up with essential, exciting and easy to understand content for students. Striking the right balance between understanding, simplicity and adhering to the syllabus requires hundreds of hours of planning, writing and rewriting.

Managing to crack the code and develop engaging content, makes it easier for students to understand the course. More excitingly, they go on to share it with their friends. However, the immediate circle of friends is rather small. That is why more and more educators go on to search for platforms that liaise with educators and students.

The Wheel can help put a lot of things into perspective.

Teachers with guns

Sunday, 4 March 2018 6:28:56 pm Australia/Sydney

Teachers with guns?!?!

GUNS!! We can barely get resources! We work in old buildings, overcrowding, overworked and underpaid. We use outmoded technology while teaching future learning. Teachers are amazing people who can turn boring paperwork and limited resources into fantastic lessons and brilliant learning opportunities. They can change, diversify and differentiate a lesson to 30 different learning styles. They raise many children, and sometimes, even better than their parents. Every teacher chose their profession simply to enable lifelong learning. To see a child have that lightbulb moment. Sorry Mr President. We didn’t start teaching to carry a gun to shoot the student we couldn’t save or protect.

Work life balance as a teacher

Many teachers struggle with developing a good work/life balance. I know the old saying about doing something you're passionate about and you will never work again, and teaching is definitely a passion - we certainly do not do it for the money!!
